Alessi - C.P. Company Steel Espresso Coffee Maker
Reinterpreted for the Alessi - C.P. Company collaboration, and released in a limited edition of 999 numbered pieces, the 9090 espresso coffee maker marks a milestone in Alessi’s history. Designed in 1979 by Richard Sapper, it was the brand’s first coffee maker, the first Alessi object to receive a Compasso d’Oro award, and the first Alessi to enter the permanente collection of the MoMA in New York. Its design combines form and function, introducing innovative solutions: an enlarged base for optimal heat distribution, a drip-free spout and a distinctive lever closure that opens with a single gesture. Crafted in Italy from 18/10 stainless steel with a black PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) surface finish, a specialised treatment in which an ultra-thin layer of metal is deposited onto the surface. With use, the finish gradually evolves, developing subtle tonal variations that give rise to a distinctive patina, enhancing its material character and uniqueness. As a final step in the production process, the co-branded logo and the limited edition's sequential numbering are is laser-engraved after the PVD coating has been applied. Capacity: 3 cups.
